My name is Gus!
Have you ever heard of a community cat? I hadn’t either but apparently, I was born one. My people call me Goose, but I’m getting ahead of myself…
I was born at a house with lots of other cats. Luckily the humans knew about community and feral cats and brought us to Pets Alive for the surgery and care that we needed.
A community (or feral) cat has been raised in the wild or was abandoned/lost and then turned to wild ways for survival. There are estimated to be over 40,000,000 nationwide and only 2% of them have been fixed!
Thanks to Pets Alive, I was neutered and have a wonderful life! So I'm raising money for them to say thank you!
They help feral and community cats all the time, and even dedicate entire days to spaying/neutering cats like us. How cool is that?
Some more cool facts about Pets Alive:
• Before Pets Alive, euthanasia rates at our local shelter hovered around 75-80%. Things were especially bad for cats like me, born or living outside; they usually didn’t make it out of the shelter.
• Pets Alive has provided 222,000 high-quality spay/neuter surgeries since 2005! Think how many unnecessary births have been prevented in those years.
• Pets Alive relies on the human Community to support its work.
